First of all I want to say thank you to everyone that came out to support us! It blows my mind that so many of you took time out of your busy schedules to celebrate our first year being open and the release of this blog!
That being said I know their were so many of you that were unable to get out of those schedules and we didn't want you to miss out. Here is a recap of the amazing night.
Having a clothing store with all of Mechelle's favorite brands has been her dream for some time. She opened her doors August 31st of 2016 and it has been insanely amazing ever since. Her and I met in October of 2016. With her brand knowledge and my crazy sense of style we have partnered together to create something so special.
Having a personal blog is something that I have always wanted to do but never had the right outlet to do so. My passion for clothing, beauty and a "healthier" lifestyle after I met Mechelle was magnified. Because of all the positive feedback by you guys we decided to release this blog and start to document the amazing things that God is doing throughout Grace & Glam and how it is impacting lives all over.
A year ago I was deciding to move to North Dakota and leave a full time prison ministry that I thought would be my forever job. It seemed so crazy that God would call me out of a ministry that was so amazing. Against my better judgment I chose to listen because he had not led me astray this far. And here I am. His plan is always so much better then our wildest dreams. He knows our hearts desires and wants us to have them if we trust and follow him.
I am anticipating the next year to be even more amazing then this one. He has put some things heavy on Mechelle & I's hearts that we will be implementing right away.
1. Wednesday Morning Prayer & Fellowship: We have decided to open Grace & Glam @8:30am Wednesday mornings. Mechelle and I will be there listening to worship music and doing devotionals. We want to encourage you to come and just hangout. We want it to be a time where we can connect, get prayer over things we are struggling with and have encouraging conversations with one another.
2. The Glam Box: Instead of doing giveaways because we get so many likes or followers on Facebook & Instagram we have decided to once a month give away a gift basket of our favorite products.
My mom is the homeless coordinator for our community back home and too often it is brought to my attention that we take for granted the blessings we do have. There are too many women out there that would die for some of the things we use daily to help us feel pretty.
We want this box to include things such as our favorite shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, tampons, makeup products, gift cards, babysitting coupons, Bibles and Devotionals. We are going to be partnering up with local businesses that feel called to give as well. If you are interested in being a part feel free to contact us via email or Facebook.
We want women to see themselves like Jesus sees us. We want this gift box to be an act of encouragement in our community.
And don't be too bummed if you missed out on all the laughs and food at this years fashion show. We are already starting to plan next years!
