At a young age every girl thinks about their future wedding. What they will wear what it will be like.
I just like everyone else also thought about this. Over the years I have become obsessed with the idea of eloping instead of having a "Big Wedding". Don't get me wrong I still love weddings. However for myself and I know some other people that can be a lot of pressure, a lot of planning and a lot of money.
I love the idea of waking up one morning and just being like "yup today is the day". This is what happened for my friends Taryn & Mitchell. They had been engaged for some months and were/are going to be having a wedding in California where they are from with family and friends. They were fortunate to get some exciting news about having a baby. The reality of this was setting in and the thought of creating a child together made their love for one another grow even more.
I was at work one day and Taryn sent me a text asking me to be a witness for her and Mitchell getting married. I was so jacked. I absolutely love being spontaneous and adventurous. So they got their marriage license and all that stuff situated, flew out Mitchell's mom from California. We hopped in our vehicles and drove around until we found a spot that was suitable enough for photos. It is actually super hard to do in North Dakota.
We hopped out in some random spot on this dead end road and posted up in between some trees. That is where it happened. They read their vows to each other. In that moment nothing else mattered. The world stopped and it was pure happiness. They made a commitment to be one and to support one another no matter what. The words themselves are so easy to say but the meaning behind them is what matters.
It was so romantic. There were no obligations. No photographers or videographers. Just me and my iPhone. It meant everything to them and so much to everyone who was able to be a part of it. To even be able to see a fragment of the love these two share for each other is what makes the world a better place.
I love being a part of things like this.
Everyone meet The Patterson's.
